Here’s one of my early gel pen drawings. This one sold at the first exhibit I ever had. I hope you enjoy looking at it.

I’m sharing it with you because there’s almost no likelihood you’ll believe it. This lunatic asylum I call my life has so many unexpected twists and turns I won’t even try to guess where it’s going. I’d suggest you try to find some laughs here. You won’t find wisdom. Good luck.
EXCELLENT!
Very together, calm. A forever piece.
Jeanne, this is blissfully magnificent! Do you have more posted? Thank you for sharing your artwork! Leslee
Thanks, Leslee, you can see some more on http://mandalagal.deviantart.com/gallery I think there are a few others posted here on the blog but there are a bunch on that site.
Kinda reminds me of the Hendrix concert in Hawaii 😛
Really, though… very nice.
Jeanne, I am blown away by these drawings! I’m an oil painter, and also a quilter. You might want to consider joining the ranks of fabric designers – I’d love to be able to buy these on fabric!
Texasjune, that’s a goal of mine. Spoonflower.com is the place to go to get designs of any kind transferred to fabric, but it’s sort of pricey (starting at $18/yd) so I haven’t done it yet. Maybe this summer I’ll have time to play with it some more and buy some fabric. I’ve gotten 6×6 inch samples of a couple of the designs and I know it will look great!
Beautiful. I wish I had that type of talent.
Lovely – looks like embroidery!
Hmm, that’s another good idea! Thanks!
Amazing work. I struggle with simple straight lines.
Thanks, Rick. I think of it as doodling with gel pens which got out of hand. It’s much more fun than using ball point pens!
Your design has magnetic appeal…
Hi Jeanne, didn’t have time to comment yesterday but am taking a minute today. I have enjoyed all of your pieces. Your color choices and the intricacy of your designs are appealing. I wonder if the designs could be transferred to fabric; so many useful items could be made beautiful with your art.
Good morning, elroyjones, yes, they can be. There’s a website called spoonflower.com that will allow you to rearrange the designs and get them printed on to a variety of fabric types. I’ve gotten samples for a couple of my designs, but the cost per yard starts at $18, so I’ve not pursued it further yet. It’s something I hope to do, though. The site is amazing, you should take a look sometime!
You are very talented! Just beautiful!
