Sandy Hook Madness – Identifying the lunatic[s]

Hi readers.  Luckily I just don’t give a damn.  But this Sandy Hook thing’s all out of hand.

Snopes put it all aside, laid it firmly to rest January, 2013.  Addressed it all calmly in that irritatingly smug Snopes fashion and has never again let the subject darken their door.  http://www.snopes.com/politics/guns/newtown.asp

Shortly later in February, 2013, Huffington Post put the whole thing to sleep offering up all manner of point-by-point reasoned arguements and explanations:  Sandy Hook Hoax Theories Explained: Why Newtown ‘Truther’ Arguments Don’t Hold Up, http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/02/11/sandy-hook-hoax-theories-explained-debunking-newtown-truther_n_2627233.html

But as Walter Brennon used to say about them Shoshones, they just “kep a’ comin’!”  Every day some new doppelganger shows up, some missing birth or death certificate, some piece of vital-but-never-the-less photoshopped evidence.

A person could walk away from it all as legitimately believing the Lanza shooter never existed, or didn’t exist on the day of the shooting, as believing t’other extreme.  Every shred of evidence in the one direction appears to be offset by equally [pick one: (a-valid)(b-absurd)] and damning proof for the other side.

In a sane world the default position would be that officialdom and their statements were a reflection of reality.  And the burden of proof would be on anyone wishing to put forward another viewpoint.

Unfortunately, the Internet and a decade of this new century have proved officialdom is composed of liars as sneaky and Byzantine in their motives as the rest of us, perhaps more so.  No doubt they’re completely capable of doing what the Sandy Hook “Truthers” accuse them of.  Provided they were sufficiently motivated to do so.

So draw straws, or follow your gut feel if you want to believe one side or the other.  And be comforted knowing you’re as likely to be on the side of the angels as anyone holding any other view.

That way lies madness: Sandy Hook conspiracy hoax

Theater shooter actors linked to Sandy hook actors- Exposed As a Fraud

Hi readers.  Thanks for coming by for a read.

I first encountered crisis actors as a concept back in New Mexico in Emergency Management.  When we, or local governments would perform disaster exercises there’d always have to be victims, people to pretend to be crying bystanders, whatever.  Volunteers, mostly.

But we program managers with Emergency Management Planning and Coordination Bureau [EMPAC] attended a lot of conferences and watched a lot of disaster films.  And we often joked that the crying victims of hurricanes, tornado victims in front of destroyed trailer houses in the midwest, and earthquake victims in California all appeared to be the same people.  When we’d view the films one-right-after-another I swear they were identical!

I hadn’t thought about that in a long time.  But then I stumbled across a series of YouTube videos about Sandy Hook, about which I knew only fragments, and discovered there’s a host of people who believe the massacre in that school was a hoax.  And furthermore, they construct logical arguments based on apparently sound evidence.

After watching some of the videos it’s clear crisis actors and their use has become a lot more sophisticated and manipulative.  And that, by doing so, [provided it’s not actually a hoax] they play directly into the hands of those who build the case supporting the hoax suppositions.

The problem with anything as pervasive as this is:  it leaves nothing intact.  Once a person accepts the premise a conspiracy of this size could exist, anything is possible, everything is quicksand.

What’s disturbing, or would be disturbing if I gave a damn, is the fact nobody’s bothering to answer the questions the hoax-believers are asking.  The claims they are making should be easy enough, incredibly simple to disprove.

I’m not referring to blanket-scoffing, ad hominin disclaimers.  The thing’s gone far enough so’s, “You must be crazy!” or “What have you been smoking?” aren’t sufficient.  Brushing aside legitimate holes in the official version of the story only lends itself to more conviction on the side of those teetering near belief.

Which lends strength to my kung fu approach to the puzzle:  I don’t give a damn.  I don’t dare give a damn.  And if I did dare give a damn I’d have to question my sanity.

Uppidy Modern Human Beings

Good morning readers.  Thanks for coming by for a read this morning.

21st Century human beings, and those of us left over from the 20th tend to get fairly uppidy and smarty pants about all the people we managed to slaughter during the 20th Century.  That, and how many we’re likely to off inadvertently here pretty soon [what with the Japanese sewer plants spewing radioactivity into next week’s cat food and whatnot].  We think we were special and innovative with WWI, WWII, the Gulags, Cambodia, Viagra – er, Biafra, the German camps, the Rape of Nanking and other incidentals perpetrated by the Japanese Empire, the pre-WWII French death camps in the Carib for their felons and political problems, Mexican revolutions, Great Cultural Revolution in China.

Mostly fairly piddly stuff compared do what a lot of our ancestors pulled off.  About the time we Americans were bragging about how many people got slaughtered at Gettysburg, in China they were actually doing it up right with the Taiping rebellion.  Bloodiest civil war in the history of humanity and until WWII took the trophy for killing more people than any war of any kind.  100,000 people slaughtered in a single day in the battle of Nanking.

A government clerk named Hung got hold of a Christian Missionary tract in the 1850s,  “Good Words to Admonish the Age“, understood it and decided he was the brother of Jesus.  Set about establishing a new heaven on earth with one-hell-of-a-lot fewer people in it, none of whom didn’t believe he was the brother of Jesus.  Came damned close to succeeding, too, insofar as the Manchu Empire was concerned.

Then there was Queen Ranavalona I of Madagascar, decided she didn’t like people who didn’t belong to her own tribe, killed off two-three million of them during the 1840s.  Survivors dressed up like Europeans, did opera, ate with the right forks and spoons.  But honestly didn’t like Europeans, either.  Butchered or enslaved any of them they could catch.  On second thought, didn’t like anyone else, either.  Gave them mostly the same treatment when they could catch them.

Keep in mind there were a lot fewer people available to be offed in those days, and a million was a lot, compared to the 20th Century where it dwindled down and got piddly.

Just because you’ve got a television where you can hear about it and keep count with a computer doesn’t mean you’re any better at it than your great-granddad.  Considering the tools he had to work with, he was better at it than you.
