The Price of Wealth

Hated Saturday nights;
Being third to
The bath-water
After Mom and Dad
But before the older kids
Felt poor;
Deprived.
He thought he was.
While down the road
His buddy, Joe Cordova
Didn’t have to feel so poor
Because the family
Didn’t have a tub.
Lucky Joe.

  3. Ah yes, baths once as week in the old tin tub. I never felt poor until my cousin Karla showed up in 5th grade in an A-line dress. Darn it, Jules, you keep reminding me of things I should be writing about. Thank You.

  4. Ahhhh, the joys of a galvinized tub in a coal camp. Thanks for the reminder, Jules.

  5. Genius! Great piece 🙂
